Important Central Heating Advice to Householders
All new central heating boiler installations from 1st April 2005 must be
condensing. It is now illegal to install a non-condensing boiler unless an
exemption certificate has been issued.
The government has set new standards to help meet the Kyoto requirements that legislate
the production of waste energy. These standards mean your boiler must have greater
energy efficiency.

Your installer must be CORGI registered, ALWAYS ask to see their registration card.
Only CORGI engineers can register an installation and gain the " Declaration of Safety
Certificate".
This certificate will form part of the Home Information Pack, which, from January 2007
will be mandatory to sell your house.

A Benchmark Logbook must be completed and handed to the Homeowner to show the
boiler as been commissioned correctly.
Benchmark is designed to raise standards by placing responsibility on both the
manufacturer and installer, ensuring the appropriate boiler is selected and installed for the
individual households requirements.
The Logbook ensures that installation and commissioning is completed in accordance
with manufacturers instructions by a registered installer.
